OISTU workshop

 On 21 September 2009, in the framework of the OISTU project we had a workshop in Budapest, Hungary on regional aspects of Broadband developments and case studies in NMS. The topic of the workshop was: Assessing the Economic Effects on Broadband Developments in Eastern European countries.The participants came from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and from the IPTS (EC). In the course of the presentations we discussed the broadband developments from a socio-economic perspective, the spatial inequalities in broadband internet markets in CEE region, the role of 3 G in the aspect of broadband use and effects and the role of public and Structural funds in broadband developments.
The Report, incorporating the outcomes of the workshop, will be public in early 2010.
